- Like most property in Tasmania – maybe your nosy neighbour ISN’T living in a multi story building and you just need to get a metre or so above your fence height – Goldstripe could be the answer for you. It will perform beautifully and grow to 2-3mtrs tall in narrow garden beds (40cm min), up to 3-4mtrs if your bed affords its natural footprint of 1 mtr.
- The attractive bushy green foliage allows trimming to your desired height to produce an attractive hedge. Its name comes from the identifying golden stripe on its culms which themselves, can emit a gold hue if planted in full sun. Perfectly suited to pots and troughs, Goldstripe is the perfect choice for contained growing where you may not need a 5 mtr plus tall screen.
- As with all clumping Bamboo – to create an effective screen, you need to space your plants according to their natural footprint, if you have the space. If not, reduce the spacing, dependant on the width of your bed. With Goldstripe, the spacing in a metre wide bed, would be one metre. If your bed is only 50cm wide however, your spacing would need to be 50cm.
